Pennsylvania Dutch Cupboard

A statement of strength and power was accomplished by the cabinetmaker in this masculine two-part Pennsylvania Dutch Cupboard. There is a fine balance between plain surfaces and the good sense of proportion. One can sense and feel the total reference to the architectural sleekness of design and the serene character of elegant restraint and refinement.

The top section has a pleasing overhanging cornice above the glass pane doors. The top steps back over a broad base. Below are four short drawers over two raised panel doors. Truly, a work of art.

Betty Taylor of Villa Hills Ky, says this about the cupboard: “I used to have one of these in my old dining room and I gave it to our daughter for a wedding gift because we became empty-nesters and wanted to downsize to a condo so we let it go. I almost wish I hadn’t done that, but our daughter loves it so much and we love that even more! This is such a solid and gorgeous antique piece for anyone who loves such style and beauty.”
